The results for modelled air pollutant ground level concentrations were presented as contour plots in accordance with EPA South Australia guidelines. Meteorological modelling was undertaken with the CSIRO's prognostic model TAPM to generate an annual, hourly varying, meteorological dataset specifically for the study area. The dispersion of odours and air pollutants from the fictitious plant were modelled using CALPUFF, a non-steady state Lagrangian dispersion model, and the results compared with those from a Gaussian plume dispersion model, AUSPLUME. To challenge the models the plant was located in a complex geographical environment using data generated for a real, coastal, hilly location south of Adelaide. ![]() An ambient air quality impact assessment was undertaken for a fictitious waste-to-energy cogeneration facility using advanced meteorological and air pollutant dispersion modelling techniques. ![]()
